Who we are

Kumar was born in Kandy, Sri Lanka, and spent his childhood working on the family dairy farm. He studied Agricultural Sciences in Bangalore for his B.Sc. Two years after the civil war started, he moved to England to do an MSc in Sustainable Agriculture. Since then he has worked on various farms across the country and started a travel company to India and Sri Lanka.

After running a sheep and goat farm in Kent and living in Chicago for 2 years, he moved to West Devon in June 2015 and bought 20 acres of grassland and woodland. He tended to a flock of Llanwenog sheep and in Jan 2019 decided to give up livestock farming and donate his sheep to Goodheart Animal Sanctuary. He now concentrates on selling his South Indian food at markets in Devon.

Kumar’s eldest daughter Daisy works in Brighton and helps manage the marketing side of the business. Molly is currently doing a Masters in Sustainable Food and Natural Resources and helps with the business side.
