Ingredients
3/4 cup Tilda basmati rice (or other white short grain rice)
1 1/2 cups of cold water
1 tbsp cumin seeds (optional)
1 tsp butter (optional)
Method
Rinse rice in a small saucepan with cold water a couple of times until the water is clear. Drain.
Add water to the rice and bring to a light boil on a medium heat without a lid.
Once water is lightly boiling, simmer on a low heat until the water is just no longer visible. Cover the pan with a lid. Simmer gently for 10 minutes on the lowest heat.
When the rice is cooked remove the lid leave the rice to stand for 5 minutes.
To serve, fluff the rice using a fork and serve with dhal and a veg.
